I lost my faith on Friday.
Having spent two years as a committed evangelist I was expecting the new operating system from Apple to be a true revelation. The gospel according to Jobs.
As soon as it was released I downloaded the video podcast. Conversion was so simple, so straightforward. A small financial donation, a slender wafer to be swallowed eagerly and a short wait for the miracle to be performed.
The wait was rather longer than I had anticipated.
Then ... the blue screen of death. Something that I thought only happened to the unconverted, those poor benighted souls still struggling on with Microshaft Windblows.
I went to the news groups, finding solace and therapy amongst those similarly benighted.
A second attempt at loading the Leopard was more successful. No more blue screen, but beautiful images and the promise of a bright future. The slate was wiped clean.
With the Time Machine you can rewrite the past. But sadly the past began with the blue screen.
And the Leopard likes its Adobe fresh.
Aagh.
