Levels of service

In January my parents bought a table at Desert Designs, who said that shipping it would be no problem. Well, it might not be, but getting information from the company about the shipment is another story. There is no point ‘phoning - it is too hard to get hold of the right person, and even if I do remember the name of the man I need to talk to, the language barrier adds an unwelcome level of challenge to the conversation. So I have to visit. Each time I do, I have to hang around the shop waiting for information. Its not the hardship that I mind, so much as the amount of money that I spend whilst I am waiting. Still no news of the shipment today. Looks as though I will have to go down again next week.

Desert Designs could learn something about customer service from Clive at Al Suhaimi Travel. I went down with LuAnne, who had to pay for her tickets. Not only did he deal with us during prayer time, but he must have spent an hour and a half on the computer trying to get her a better airfare. He did the same for me last year - trying all sorts of combinations, destinations and stopovers, before I eventually settled on the first option he had suggested because it was the cheapest. Such a patient man.
