After three wonderful weeks in the UK and France, I am now back in Saudi Arabia. It is hot. Very hot. I ran this afternoon at about 2.30. It was so hot that I had to stop and walk three or four times during my four mile run AND have a cold shower when I got back. I shall run earlier or later in the day for a month or two I think.
My car will not start and the air conditioning in the bathroom is leaking.
Security in Heathrow (following the alleged plot to blow up a number of US bound airlines earlier this month) was tight but smooth running. Only one small carry on bag is allowed. No extra handbags, cameras or even sandwiches are allowed through security. I managed to get my laptop and camera body in the same bag and take them on board, so at least I didn’t have to check my most valuable items.
